Support Local Elementary Students with DESK!
DESK is an annual spring-time event at Wake Forest University. Started by two students who identified a lack of work space in the homes of the children they tutored, they partnered with Old Town Elementary School to provide an exciting and colorful study space for students, with the goal of encouraging positive reading habits. In 2023, the DESK event is partnering with more schools in the Winston-Salem community to help promote and encourage positive academic habits in the lives of K-5 elementary students. In conjunction with this remarkable event, WFU DESK is asking for your support to strengthen educational equity in the Winston-Salem community. Your donations will provide school supplies to our partnering schools and also support the Summer Freedom School at Wake Forest University!

Your gift will support local elementary students by providing school supplies to our partner schools and the Freedom School, a program directed by the Wake Forest University Department of Education.
The Freedom School strives to enhance children's motivation to read and make them feel good about learning. Additionally, the Freedom School connects students and their families to accessing the right resources within the Winston Salem community.
Project DESK 2023
Discovering Education through Student Knowledge (DESK) brings local elementary school children to campus each spring to create inspiring, colorful study spaces for students in their homes. Your support will impact the lives of local students, and empower them to excel inside and outside of the classroom.
